Ray-Ban Model numbers explained.
Luxottica make 4 Different Ray-Ban Collections.
Adult`s Sunglasses ( Most Popular Sunglass collection in the world)
Adult`s Ophthalmic frames
Children's Ophthalmic Frames
Each collection has its own prefix before the model number
Model numbers for Adult Sunglasses all start with RB ( Ray-Ban Sunglasses )
Model numbers for Children's Sunglasses all start with RJ ( Ray-Ban Junior Sunglasses )
Model numbers for Adult Optical Frames all start with RX ( Ray-Ban Optical )
Model numbers for Children's Optical frames all start with RY (Ray-Ban Junior Optical )
This prefix is then followed by a 4 digit model Number
On the sides of your sunglasses / frames you will see the model number ,
If you see RB2140
RB specifies Adult Ray-Ban Collection
2140 Specifies the Model NUMBER in the RB Collection
RJ2140, RX2140 or RY2140 are completely different models
RJ2140 = Model 2140 in the Ray-Ban Junior Sunglasses Collection
RX2140 = Model 2140 in the Ray-Ban Optical Collection
RY2140 = Model 2140 in the Ray-Ban Junior Optical Collection
Please ensure that the Model number of your Sunglasses / Glasses you are repairing matched the Model number in the title of the advertisement you are purchasing through exactly.
If the model number that is printed on your glasses does NOT start with either RB, RX, RJ or RY then it is either an Old Bausch & Lomb Model ( Over 15 years old ) or they make be fake Ray-Ban. If they are either of these we are unable to supply parts.
